Two things worse than

when she broke my heart—

Minecraft spiders.

No figurative language needed.

Two. 

Waking up late for work, 

Because you didn’t set an alarm.

I’ve been late to work

four times this week.

Because waking up in the morning

without her is the hardest 

thing I’ve had to do

since I quit smoking.

And there is no excuse I can give

to my boss

See, I’ve been late to work

four times this week.

And I know you’re wondering,

how can waking up late

be worse than your other half

walking out of your life

without warning?

It’s not. 

But there is something fundamentally

different about being betrayed

by someone with their own

agency. 

And shooting yourself

in the foot.
